Hello,
I have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop with 4gigs of Ram running Windows 7 Professional. I have a 465GB HD with 356 GB free. Will windows 10 pro work?
thanks in advance.
Most likely possible. I installed Win10 on a Dell Studio 17/1747 a couple of days ago that had Win7. Have also installed it on 2 Dell Inspiron 15 Notebooks, just finished one. One thing to watch for is perhaps the need for updated/Win10 compatible drivers for Wireless Network and, if you have it, Bluetooth Wireless [both of my 15s needed it] but check support.dell.com with your Service Tag to be sure.
Berton thanks a lot for your post. I'm surprised that dell will still support my laptop since I purchased it in 2009. I will check for the Bluetooth wirless drivers.
I didn't look up the age of that unit, it may not have a Bluetooth adapter, usually a part of the Wireless/Wi-Fi adapter. In most cases Win10 can work fine installed over Win7 but there still may be driver issues if not built into Win10. My Dell Studio 17/1747 is every bit as old as yours, first review I read was in Dec. 2009.
Dell is not confirming support of XPS M1530 laptop to work with Windows 10. No drivers available. Hopefully it will still work.
I'm going to try an upgrade on a 6 year old Acer lappy . just have to wait and see
Back up your system first, save any tears

What driver did you use for the blue tooth? can you share the link with me. I am looking for the M1530 bluetooth driver for Win 10.... any ideas where i can get it?
