Hi guys i have Windows.old folder in my c drive every time i try to delete it says ''The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open another program Close the folder or file and try again."
Here are the steps are tried to deleting
1. Try using unlocker to delete the folder didn't work
2. you ccleaner program to delete folder didn't work
3. Using windows Disk cleanup and checking on previous Windows installation(s) didn't work
4. taking ownership from the folder and try deleting it didn't work
like there is no way to delete this folder because in the folder it contains system files folder and there is no way to delete them any help would be great thanks.
Create a recovery drive (USB flash drive or CD/DVD) using Kyhi's Recovery Drive:

Boot the computer from that, you should be able to delete Windows.old from file explorer.
or
Boot into safe mode to delete Windows.old:
Safe Mode - Start Windows 10 in - Windows 10 blog
You should be able to delete Windows.old in safe mode.
kk when i go to safe mod using option one how do i get out of safe mod just by restarting?
safe mode didn't work either...
Hi have you tried as a last resort Revo Uninstaller
Or go into your C Drive go to Windows there you should see a Folder called Windows Old.
Try Right click on it and see if you can delete it that way.
Did you click on highlighted link to reveal Windows.Old? as shown below...then scrolled down to and ticked to delete.
