"One or more network protocols are missing on this computer"

I have a brand new HP 14-ac101ng with Windows 10 64 bit installed on it that refuses to connect to the internet with recourse to old school LAN cable; I do not have WIFI and I urgently need to get online as several deadlines are approaching. The error message I get is as follows:

"one or more network protocols are missing on this computer"

I have tried everything from the reinstallation of HP drivers to the installation of non-HP drivers which I allegedly did not have as well as following the guidlines as set down by by those who claim to know all about the matter on hand - all of the foregoing to no avail.

If someone has a bulletproof and unequivocal solution to this problem, I would be immensely grateful for your help.

And let me emphasise that I have done all there is of troubleshooting procedures. In other words, questions such as "have you tried....[A, B, or C]" are totally superfluous.

Kind regards,

D

1. Click the WIN+R.

2. Select Device Manager, navigate to Network Adapter, find your network adapter, and right-click it, "Uninstall" driver.

3. Reboot the computer to reinstall it again to check the result

Hello,

I have the following 4 adapters under this category:

1) Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)
2) Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
3) Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
4) Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter.

Which amongst these am I supposed to uninstall? I uninstalled #3, but upon restarting the computer, the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller was back running again although I had uninstalled it.

Regards,
D.

You can reset the TCP/IP protocol:...by doing the following

1. Press WIN+R to open the Run window.

2. Type netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt and press Enter. Restart your computer.

Have you tried A, B, C, or BEST FIX: One or More Network Protocols Are Missing

It covers just about everything

I'm not clear on refuses to connect to the internet with recourse to old school LAN cable- does that mean you can connect via Ethernet?
