pc response time major delays

i dont know if its from malware or something else, but when i click to open a browser or any other window, it take a while to respond. and few minutes ago, i try click on an app on taskbar and it just hangs there. i had to restart. and for several seconds, the log in page didnt display. this shouldnt be, the pc is only a month old. ASUS brand is starting to look like a crappy one at that. anyone have any clues?

Hi, according to your specs you don't have enough RAM to run Win 10.. I would imagine you are using your paging file intensively.

I looked up your model number and it appears to have been sold with 4Gb. ????

You can easily check e.g. by opening a command prompt, typing
systeminfo

If in fact you do have enough RAM - please update your specs-
and see if there's a change
a. after a clean boot
b. in safe mode
c. If no change in (a) Download and run Shellexview (free); hide all MS items, disable all others noting the 32 bit option exposes more. Try again (no log off or restart needed). Then enable all again.

d. Please post a screenshot or screenshots of your task manager, making sure resource intensive processes are at the top of the column of interest (click the tab to organise).

iam reluctant in starting in safe mode mate. because last month, after I unknowingly downloaded a program that hijacked my OS, safe mode brings back some bad vibes. but anyway, here is tasker with only the programs that are using more cpu than other programs

and this is part of system specs

Hi, something's using CPU and disk.. if your PC is supposed to be idle, I'd be looking for 2-3% CPU max- ideally less.

Can you please post a screenshot of your task manager; click on the CPU tab until the processes using most CPU time are at the toplike this:

can you see they are highest, next highest and so on.

Repeat for the disk tab.

In your previous screen shot I can't see what accounts for the 16%.

Now try a clean boot - to see whether any 3rd party programs are causing your slow performance.
Please report the total CPU and disk use after the clean boot.

c. If no change in (a) Download and run Shellexview (free); hide all MS items, disable all others noting the 32 bit option exposes more. Try again (no log off or restart needed). Then enable all again.

In your system specs you say:
Memory 435GB out of 500GB
- could you please correct that.

sorry, but at this time I refuse to execute a reboot, call me odd!

Sorry, then I'm afraid I can't help to diagnose your problem. I'll leave that to someone else. Good luck!

thx for trying to help with perplexing situation.. [update] the problem isn't present at this time, back to normal. if it happens again, I will reconsider a reboot in safe mode.
