I accidentally joined it on my primary email account, but left a few days later.

Also, does this count for people that use a local account but login just for the Feedback app?

Can't say for sure...

Why shouldn't they, this is a free preview for testing, how else are they going to improve on it or get rid of the bugs if they don't. If you are not comfortable with this, don't join.

Windows 10 Tech Preview is for testing purposes, so if you don't want this personal info to be collected from Microsoft don't install it. It is impossible to improve an Operating system, without these data from your community, the end users.

I agree ,it seem from what I have been reading here and on the win8 forum that people are giving up on win8 and going to use win10 preview as there main OS ,makes no sense , seems silly to me to even consider such a thing

Pretty sure that's what I just said....

That disclaimer is pretty much in line with the Windows 8 phone privacy statement. I may even been lifted from the phone, especially with the reference of "phone call and SMS data; device configuration and sensor data; and application usage."

Windows 8.x had the option to disable Bing search integration, at least on the surface, but that's no longer an option in the tech preview.

The difference between 8.x and 10 is that the former one allowed disabling most of the data collection, which seems to be absent in 10. At least to the level of 8.x.

Here are some of the settings that control data collection in the image below. Does anyone know what ID will be reset?
