Will I get a Win 10 x64 install on a 20gb drive

Generally smaller devices only use 32bit as smaller footprint. Why a 20GB drive?

You must be running a pc from Bedrock with only a 20GB harddrive.

Pentium dual core 2ghz, 4gb ram and 2 x 20gb ide drives, only used for browsing.

If the processor will support 64-bit Windows 10 then yes, you should be able to get an initial install on a 20gb drive. The problem is going to come when the next major build comes out (like the November update last year). You might not have enough free space to accomplish the upgrade.

Related question to someone else that might know - what about joining the two drives together as one dynamic drive 40gb in size? I've never done a dynamic disk so don't know anything about it.

BTW - I found an old 9GB hard drive in my basement the other day. Wiped it with 0's then 1's and took it to Goodwill for shipping to China where they will probably do some hocus pocus and resell it as a 200GB drive

MS recently came out with an update to 10240 which fixed the lack of space on a small drive by allowing the upgrade to use a usb stick as scratch space (as was possible when upgrading to 10240. i assume same fix will be in 10586 but then again ....

Exactly. I was running on 20GB partition but couldn't upgrade. Upped it to 32GB and it is fine. Once installed Windows takes a bit less than 5GB for 32 bit and a bit less than 7GB for 64 bit once compressed.

If you don't mind re-installing rather than upgrading (and don't want to install Visual Studio or anything) 20GB is fine. Almost all my VMs are 20GB.

It seems to work - upgrading a x64 VM with Office installed from 10586 to 14251 worked fine on a 20GB disk.

Of course, the user could run the DISM command and delete all of the Windows Update bloat from the component store to save space. That might allow a new build to have enough room to install successfully. I was using a 20 gb and a 40 gb to test Windows 10 with earlier last year.
