100% disc usage on Windows 10, Slow PC, superfetch, MSI etc disabled ?

Hello,

I have a problem with my computer, It became very slow lately. The main symptom is that the disc usage is always at 100% (with in reality only 10 Mo/s). I have already tried many things that were unsuccessful :

- Clean disk and registry
- run Malware Byte (Minor things were found)
- desactivate superfetch; windows search and defrag
- remove windows tips& notifications
- disable MSI (see No superfetch No windows search No Defrag still 100% disk usage - Windows 10 blog)
- Change some parameters on google Chrome/Skype (see : How to fix 100 disk usage in Windows 10 - Microsoft Community)
- change the page file settings ( see here : Disk usage always at 100% [Solved] - windows 10 - Windows 10)

I still have the same problem . Any other suggestions ?

I have to say that I am not a pro, so I followed most of the things I cited above without really understanding what I was exactly doing... If you think that I might not have done something properly, you can ask me to repeat it.

Thanks a lot in advance for help !

Hi, in what version of win 10 you're running u'r pc? And what process shown in the task manager or resouce used most of your HDD. Have you tried to get the update from win update?

Hi,
Thanks for the reply !
So I am on Windows 10 version 1607 I did the big windows update last week hoping that this would solve the problem, but it did not.
When I am doing nothing special, It is probably avira that uses the most, but I already tried to deactivate it and it did not improve. I think it slows down the computer a bit but that is not the main problem...

Hi Mikallou,

Welcome to the 10blog

Please make a screenshot or photo of the disk usage so we have a better picture at what is 'using' it mostly.

Please fill in your system specs

Hello,

I have the same problem as Mikallou.
Changed MSI settings, changed windows search, changed pagefile, updated BIOS and drivers.
I've done reset of whole Windows 10 too and done all these steps too.

My specs:
LENOVO Lenovo Z51-70
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-5005U CPU @ 2.00GHz
BIOS C2CN21WW(V2.02)
SanDisk SDSSDA240G
(1) AMD Radeon(TM) R7 M360 (2) Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro 64-bitowy 14393 Multiprocessor Free

Have you tried sfc /scannow with cmd?
some other opinion about high disk usage treatment out there suggest to do that.

Hmmm to be honest, i don't know for sure what is the root of this problems. My laptop configuration of MSI, superfetch, and Win search are in default (not disabled) but fortunately the disk usage is normal (0%-1%) when idle. Sometimes Avira (when scanning on demand) get harddisk work 60%-70% but only in short time. However, yes it ever happened to me after Net Framework 4.6.1 installed (after doing clean install) on earlier build. So i re-clean install my laptop again and decided not to install it and the disk work normally. i dunno for sure why. sorry that im a newbie too.
