Machine_Check_Exception BSOD on new laptop

So far I've gotten it twice. Before I go through the work of returning and getting a new one I'm hoping it's an easy fix.
MSI-GE62-Fri_12_04_2015_235130_46.zip

I can usually cause it to crash by opening Word 365

Hi zenixnet,

I'm very sorry for the huge delay.
I've been very busy for the past 2 weeks and there aren't many people in this part of the forum.

Have you gotten any bluescreen in the past few days?
If you have, please run the dm log collector again and upload a new zip for the new data of the crashes.

Because you state this is a new laptop, I would suggest to RMA the laptop.
The 0x9C(MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION) is a crash caused by hardware.
Code:
Probably caused by : intelppm.sys
Code:
3: kd> k Child-SP RetAddr Call Site ffffd001`5290a828 fffff801`51a394b1 nt!KeBugCheckEx ffffd001`5290a830 fffff801`51a39870 hal!HalpMcaReportError+0xf5 ffffd001`5290a980 fffff801`51a39a10 hal!HalpMceHandlerWithRendezvous+0xb0 ffffd001`5290a9b0 fffff801`51bc1a7b hal!HalHandleMcheck+0x40 ffffd001`5290a9e0 fffff801`51bc1831 nt!KxMcheckAbort+0x7b ffffd001`5290ab20 fffff801`b84a2f98 nt!KiMcheckAbort+0x171 ffffd001`5292a878 00000000`00000000 intelppm!MWaitIdle+0x18

I updated the bios, Intel drivers, and NVIDIA and I haven't had it happen since then. Should I still return it?

No no no no no, of course not
Hardware could mean the drivers, or the hardware itself.
Better said, hardware related.

Thanks for the help, is there a way to know exactly what component intelppm.sys goes to?

It calls into KiMcheckAbort, this stuff (the stack, what happens at time of the crash) one needs to read from below to above.
Unfortunately, what exactly happens is beyond of me
All I know is that the intel processor driver calls to a driver from Windows, but I can't say more.

3: kd> k Child-SP RetAddr Call Site ffffd001`5290a828 fffff801`51a394b1 nt!KeBugCheckEx ffffd001`5290a830 fffff801`51a39870 hal!HalpMcaReportError+0xf5 ffffd001`5290a980 fffff801`51a39a10 hal!HalpMceHandlerWithRendezvous+0xb0 ffffd001`5290a9b0 fffff801`51bc1a7b hal!HalHandleMcheck+0x40 ffffd001`5290a9e0 fffff801`51bc1831 nt!KxMcheckAbort+0x7b ffffd001`5290ab20 fffff801`b84a2f98 nt!KiMcheckAbort+0x171 ffffd001`5292a878 00000000`00000000 intelppm!MWaitIdle+0x18
