Office 365 delivers updates through Office Update - if you have a standalone version of Office you get updates through Windows Update and you don't have the "Update Options" box. Somewhat confusing...



Here are the release notes - it looks like bug fixes rather than functionality changes.

Strangely the release notes only seem to open in IE not in Edge for me (but that could be an Insider Preview thing).

I have Office 2016 Pro (not 365) and get updates automatically through Windows Update. I also have the Update Options button and can do updates manually via, Update Now option.

I Can also get the update both ways but sometime prefer to check myself will using word and download and install it manually
