Can someone help me please...
I cant seem to run MS Windows and Office auto updates (or manual).
keep getting the following message
'Updates are available, but we temporarily need 489.48 MB-489.48 MB of space to download. Remove some things you don't need right now and we'll try again.'
There is currently 10.6GB of free space on the system partition.
I have just (on Friday 20 Feb 2016) installed the Windows 10 upgrade from the MS site.
Took 6/7 attempts to finally get it done.
HDMI driver not working
Audio not working properly (keeps saying USB Audio playback default) I don't have anything plugged in. I have a realtek HD Audio installed.
Wifi is very flaky.....keeps disconnecting or reporting limited connection intermittently......15/20 times a day.
Running virgin Superhub, with 150mb pipe,
everything was working perfectly prior to the Upgrade from windows 7 sp1 to Windows 10.
I am not particularly IT literate but will post any info required to resolve my issues.
please help me if you can.
Thanks

Welcme to windowssh blog, hariomash.
First, try running Disk Cleanup - use the extended mode if necessary - Detailed Tutorial is here: Disk Cleanup - Open and Use in Windows 10 NOTE - running this in extended mode will offer ability to remove old Windows OS files (can be quite a chunk of change) but that will also remove the ability to roll back from Win10 to the prior operating system.
Thank you for the quick response Word Man.
I have done disk clean several times. Also used CCleaner, defragged the drive and cleaned up the registry using ccleaner.
Moved chunks of files and uninstalled several programs.
moved my old OS temp files to another USB drive, in total moved over 15Gb and still getting same message.
I am going bald tearing my hair out.
Any other suggestions?

Download: TreeSize Portable Free then run as admin to find out where all the space taken.
And download: TFC Temporary file removal tool then run as admin to delete all temp files. This program will kill some background processes to unlock temp files in order to delete, will need to sign out and sign back in when done.
In addition, delete everything under: C:WindowsSoftwareDistributionDownload
which contains all the Windows Updates files that were already installed.
You might want to double check that your System Restore storage allocation is not set at an unreasonable level - I'll hazard a guess that more than 15-20 GB would be unreasonable. If you need guidance on that, look in particular at step 10 (set system usage you want) in this Tutorial: System Protection - Turn On or Off for Drives in Windows 10
In any event, if you have 15 or 20 GB, you could lower the slider to a minimum to regain most of that space, at worst just for the time being, going back to a higher setting later if need be.
Thanks again WORD MAN
The System Restore file is set at 4Gb.
I can't see any windows Temp files or .old files anywhere on my C: drive.
C: drive Properties shows 32Gb free, after I have moved files to an external USB DRIVE.
NB the message only asks for under 500Mb of temp free space. Should be plenty of space to run updates, even a full upgrade. what stupid thing am I doing wrong ?
Thanks Hariomash.
Thank you Topguncdp....
will try tomorrow and will let you know the outcome.
It is 2.0 am in uk and I going to bed now . Thank you
