I can't turn off update delivery optimization, it keeps reseting to on everytime i restart pc
this is the option in update & security > windows update > advanced options > choose how updates are delivered
Hello dbaic, and welcome to windowssh blog.
Double check the registry location for this setting using OPTION TWO below to see if that may help.
Windows Update - Choose how you Download in Windows 10
Hi, thx for the reply, registry appears to be correct, but still it resets back to default
In that case, you might set it to PCs on my local networkfor now to avoid the internet option. That is if that doesn't get reset as well.
Do you have your PC's settings sync'd with OneDrive in settings app>Accounts? You could try turning it off and see if Update Delivery Option changes after a couple of boots. If it doesn't, go to OneDrive and delete your PC's sync, then turn it back on(if you wish) in settings.
yes unfortunately that does reset as wellonedrive is turned off and i never made account for it
Ok. This might not help but... Windows Update Delivery Optimization: FAQ
i found out that this is much bigger problem than just this, for some reason i dont have rights to change a bunch of stuff even though im administrator, i need to disable UAC and only then i can change it, i upgraded to win10 from win7
Are you signed in to the built-in Administrator account by chance?
If so, then that could be why since the modern UI will not work well in an elevated account like that one.
how do i check this?
