How to Prevent from re-install updates

Hi,

I want to uninstall last AU Update (ver. 105) because it takes too long restarting Windows (from 46s to over 1min. 6s), but I believe Windows will at once re-install the Update.
How to prevent this?
Thank you.

Hi, how do you prevent the AU being reinstalled?
a. If you have Win 10 Pro you can defer upgrades.
b. You can block all updates altogether
Windows Update Automatic Updates - Enable or Disable in Windows 10 - Windows 10 blogOpt 4,5 for Home editions.
c. You can set your internet connection to metered in Settings. This is said to block all updates, but is not an 'official' method.
All editions.
d. You can search the web:

If you have 10 Home, the only way I know to prevent "automatic" Windows update is to stop the update service. But then you will not receive any updates at all. If you want to check/install future updates, you will need to restart the update service. If you have 10 Pro, you can specify how and when you want updates through "gpedit.msc". @TexasBandit: - there are more ways for Home. Please see my post above, plus Pro offers 'defer upgrades'

Thank you .
I have the Home version.
I know how to Disable the Automatic Updates, easiest way is disabling it in Services , but that is not what I am looking for. I just want to Stop the KB3176938 to be re-installed, once I have uninstalled it.

I understand that, I was just giving some alternatives. Stopping the update service is pretty severe, not to mention a pain. If I had 10 Home, I would most likely follow your suggestions since he only wants to "delay" one update. This "feature" of Windows 10 is going to get a lot of backlash I believe. I understand Microsoft wanting to ensure updates are applied, but forcing the issue is probably a mistake.

To stop KB3176938 from being installed, download windows update show/hide utility from microsoft

Run it and select KB3176938 to hide.

But Adwalar wants to block the AU - the build- not KB3176938, which is an update subsequent to the AU, so that won't do what he wants.

Yes you can block the feature update to windows 10 build 1607. Select it and set to hide. Ive blocked 1607 and am still running 1511.

Do you have 10 Home or 10 Pro? I did not know you could do that in 10 Home. That's good to know ... Thanks
