Adobe creative suit 3 (CS3) Installed.

I am attempting to transfer / install my old Adobe CS 3 on a new Windows 10 PC workstation.

Shortly into the installation process the installation is interrupted, and the file; “Adobe PDF.dll” is requested from an Vista CD-ROM.
We do not have an Vista CD-ROM available.

How can I get around this issue and get the program installed?

Thanks guys…….

Hmmm, No reply for three days?

Our anyone running CS 3 on Windows 10?

How did you manage to install it?
Or is it only my computer will ask for some vista files?

Cheers

Hi OlleP

CS3 is not even supported on Windows 8. Windows 10 you will probably have problems I would suggest CS4 as I know that works fine, sorry there is not much Info on CS3 but some have managed to install it on Windows 10 but it is not recommended and Microsoft's compatibility page says they don't recommend it either.

You could try installing in VM

Thanks Stephanie.

So you're saying I have to throw away my good old CS3??

Have a great day.

I'm using CS2 on Win10 without a problem.Suggest you download it,it is now free, run it then uninstall and reinstall CS3.Don't forget a restore point.

Thanks Stephanie.

I just checked a Retail and a Dell-branded Vista disc and that adobepdf.dll file does not appear on either.

Hi.
I have CS2 installed on a W10 rig, and it works fine. There is a trick to installing it though: you have to install it to a custom directory, and not the default. Otherwise, you'll get errors that files can't be found. I don't know if it would be the same for CS3, but it's worth a shot. I'm sure CS3 would not be looking for any file from a Vista OS.

EDIT: adobepdf.dll is required for Acrobat. If your suite includes Acrobat, you might want to install that first?

My reply about the mentioned file and Vista discs ended up under the wrong response. But it remains that the file is not on the Vista discs so the mention of Adobe Acrobat may be accurate, the file does exist in my Acrobat 8.0 in the C:Program Files (x86) Folder. The install was a large file downloaded from Adobe.

Thank you very much for ideas and help.

The Adobe creative suits CS3 is now successfully installed.

The next problem is that I reached maximum installs on the serial number, the system suggest I log on to the old computer and deactivate.

That "old computer" is long gone after a crash - and not available at all.

So what's the solution there?

Have a great day all......
