Tried installing a program and received an error message advising that JRE needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled from the off-line installer.
I did this and then tried to install the program again, but received the same result ...
I contacted the program supplier, and they advise, "The point is, if you see this error, it means Java is not available for System user, and Traccar is executed from System account."
Oracle say it's an issue with the program certificate, but Traccar insist it's a Java issue connected to the System account ...
and so it goes round in circles.
Anyone have any idea how to, make Java RE available to the System account in Windows 10 please let me know.
Many thanks
I remember that one time I installed Java RE I had to choose the 64bit version to run it with the program I was using. Is there something like this causing problems for you? Unlikely, but it's all I can think off atm. There was nothing special I had to do to make it work.
Have you looked at the Java control panel applet to see if there are any settings/clues there?
I downloaded the 64bit version as I'm running a 64bit WIndows 10 OS and can't see anything that would cause this in the JCP !!!
Total mystery !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... does, however, highlight the shortcomings in the software
Even though you have 64bit W10 you can still use the 32bit JRE. Might this be worth trying in case it works better with the program you installed?
Now ! ... there's a thought !
Please give us an update after you try it.
Thank you.
Nope ... made no difference ... still showing the same error message and the software people are adamant that it's a Java issue and nothing to do with the program installer ... and trying to get direct support from Oracle on the Java is impossible as all the support seems to be aimed at developers, not end users !
Darn !
Which version of Java are you using?? 8 or 7??
Here's the link to download 7.. the version you need,.
Java SE Runtime Environment 7 - Downloads | Oracle Technology Network | Oracle
Darn, and DOUBLE Darn ! (
