MoreMicrosoft has released another patch for Windows 10 build 9879 and this time they are addressing the bug that caused Explorer to crash frequently. The update is available now via Windows update but know that it does require a restart to complete the install.
Microsoft has released previous patches but this one will likely appease users the most as the Explorer crashing issue was widespread among users.
UPDATE:
How to Change to Use Start Menu or Start Screen in Windows 10
Thanks for the update.
Jeff
I have tried to install it 3 times and has failed all 3 times go figure.
Mine worked right off on the first try. Was a bit "odd" on the first restart but then it just "worked".
Who knows.. I'll run the update for a while, day or two and see how it goes.
Jeff
The Update failed for me as well. Will try again later.
What's really "odd".. my instillation of Win10 9897 just "works". Like I said the update installed just fine on the first try and it worked. Not an issue really. Given how "new" this OS is it really works well for me.
I hope your update goes better.
Jeff
Has failed three times for me, too.
Well. Now it seems that the update shows that it wasn't done, failed, but I can't get it to try it again. It comes back with "installed".. oh well.
I cant install it either It ask for restart but when i check again, it is still available and in history it show as fail.
Is this update to fix that GDI object issue ?
Thanks for the info labeeman! I did the download and install. So far I haven't noticed any problems. In Windows update it say's it's installed. I'll switch to IE for a few days to see if I have any problems.
