How to unpin Cortana from Start Menu?

i've searched everywhere, and even uninstalled Cortana from Windows Features..
it's no longer running.. but i can't figure out how to unpin it from the Start Menu.

Anyone know how to unpin Cortana?
Thanks

FYI: if anyone is interested in removing hidden Windows Features:
- you'll need win6x_registry_tweakfrom MSFNor here's a mirror.
- you can remove Windows Defender, Adobe Flash, Search, Indexer, HyperV, etc.. completely

Available commands:
Code:
install_wim_tweak.exe /o /l
- list all packages

Code:
install_wim_tweak.exe /o /c **PACKAGE** /r
- remove package

FYI: becareful.. don't go crazy and remove things you're unsure about.. some packages are required for functionality and can cause serious problems.

Right-click taskbar, search->hidden.

I just set it to "Show Search Icon" to use less space, but Cortana isn't available in Canada yet so I might just hide it for now.

no.. im talking about from the Start Menu.

Unfortunately, that was the first place i looked..
but Cortana is a special app. and is not listed in those places.
this is why i am asking.. if it was that easy.. i wouldn't have to ask

I shut Cortana off and after I shut the computer off it was no longer in the start menu when I powered back up. I hope that works for you too Cortana - Turn On or Off in Windows 10

P.S. I never thought I'd try to help Bill Gates with a Windows issue.

Okay then...Have you tried to completely uninstall Cortana via PowerShell?

See here

Edit: Or go with letmein solution in previous post above this

yea.. i have Cortana disabled via GPEdit.
i also removed all traces of Cortana from my system and registry.
it's still there.

this sucks.

That's pretty invasive changes to the os to remove an entry in the list of apps. Why not just turn it off then leave it? Cortana is pretty imbedded into the os, and would require a clean reinstall to repair. You may not even be able to reset your computer.
