Windows 10 build 10051 has new mail and calendar apps

A new build of Windows 10 has leaked and with it comes new mail and calendar apps. As you can see from the image in this post, the UI has been overhauled.

It should not come as a big surprise that these apps have been updated as Microsoft has overhauled nearly ever aspect of Windows 10. The new UI represents Microsoft's more modern but less metroy style.

yes look better IMO running build 10051 it in there

here is video of new mail app

I hope they work better than the ones in 10049. I can't scroll to the side with a mouse or trackpad.
Seems to be setup for touch screen on my laptop.

I like the look of the new calendar, be nice to see how these all run on smaller screens though

Not sure if I missed it while reading, anyone know if mail supports POP accounts (in 8/8,1 it doesn't), I only use IMAP myself but know a few people that still use POP and want to stick with this

According to the video posted, it looks like it will support POP. I'm hoping for that too.

Thanks for the info, my BB is too slow for streaming video so couldn't check that out

There were two issues on my machine, the first was the AMD/ATI graphics driver. It was driving my external monitor at 64 Hz instead of 60 Hz (at least that was what was reported). The 2nd was also related to the driver - glyphs were reported on the title bar and in the settings. I downloaded the current (not beta) driver and Windows Update dutifully corrected my correction - so I turned off Driver installs and tried again - this time it stuck.

I'm not sure that this affected the presentation, but the next bit definitely does...

Try reducing the resolution in Settings -> System -> Display -> Advanced display settings
I had to drop mine two notches from 1600x900 to 1366x768.
The odd thing is that after kvetching to myself about the resolution and setting it back to 1600 x 900 all of the apps worked fine
... for now anyway
