Microsoft to force Windows 10 on users with automatic updates from 2016 - IT News from V3.co.uk
Then that will be the day I go back to Seven.
I don't think you quite understand, the auto-update is for people who have Windows 7 or 8, it will automatically download just like Skype does now, with them. This whole Windows 10 thing is just becoming to much.
I have updates turned off on all our machines, then I never have to worry about it.
Automatic updates are a good idea, a lot of people have no idea their machines are way out of date and vulnerable to Malware etc. The only thing is Microsoft should come up with an automatic near fool proof method of rolling back or restoring earlier settings. I know they're nearly there now but not quite.
It will not be "Forced" on users.JimHowever, Myers said that there will be clear prompts to choose whether or not to continue with the upgrade, and that even if people do proceed, they will have 31 days to roll back to the previous Windows version if they change their mind.
The title is just typical Blogger Click Bait
I understand perfectly, if MS does it for Win 7 and 8 , 8.1 they will do it with Win 10.
I just read on "7 blog" that some people who turned off auto updates noticed after they logged in auto updates was turned on again .
Actually all the check boxes that were unchecked were checked again after a restart according to one user.
They already do it with Win 10.
Jim
What he said? They are already doing automatic updates for Windows 10?
This is an automatic update that loads the upgrade update to Windows 10 on Windows 7 and Windows 8 PC's. It bypasses the GWX App and preloads you for the Windows 10 upgrade.
