TipHow to Check for and Install Windows Updates in Windows 10
A restart will be required.
Got it... went smoothly on my laptop.
Control Panel add/remove programs now permits uninstall again without crashing Explorer. I never experienced the Network Adapter crash, but hopefully this patch fixed that as well.
I swear I posted this same KB article in another thread by Brink
Nope, that was KB3074681 ... the one that this one fixes. New Security Update KB3074681 for Windows 10 July 25th 2015
KB3074683: Cumulative Security Update for Windows 10: July 24, 2015Summary
This security update resolves the following vulnerabilities in Windows:
The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted document or visits an untrusted webpage that contains embedded OpenType fonts. To learn more about the vulnerability, see Microsoft Security Bulletin MS15-078.
The vulnerability impacts Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer. To learn more about the vulnerability, see Microsoft security advisory 2755801 and Adobe Security bulletin APSB15-18.
The vulnerability could allow elevation of privilege if the Windows Installer service incorrectly runs custom action scripts.
Additionally, this update includes non-security-related changes to enhance the functionality of Windows 10 through new features and improvements.
Just installed the update on my Encore 8 tablet and it left it unbootable, and I had no system restore points. Oh well, I wanted to flash back to 8.1 before the 29th anyway…
[EDIT] Thinking about it, I installed PSE5 on the tablet yesterday and it might have been that. I forgot that I had the same problem when I installed it on Win8.1
[EDIT] Windows 8.1 feels really weird after using Windows 10 for so long.
Got it..
, Hello, why I can not install this update???
Hello,
I'm experience problems with this update. It loops on restart and says that "can't install update and it will undo the changes" then loops...and loops.
Any help please?
