Nothing but a black window at bootup

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and it was running great. Then I shut off the computer and all I generally got was a completely black screen and totally unable to get into the Bios. I did manage to test the memory and set the Bios to the defaults to no avail. Here's what else I tried:
1.Pulling the plug out
2.Removing the battery
3. disconnecting the hard drive
4.Putting the boot drive on different SATA socket.
5. Putting the memory into a different socket.
Again, just a black screen. I think it's the motherboard.

Graphics adapter is a good guess, if not even a cursor.Did eventually get into the BIOS, so you saw a picture ?
How did you upgrade through downloaded files ?

I'm using the Intel graphics. I first updated to Win 10 from Win 7, but I then did a clean install. Windows 10 runs PERFECTLY when I'm able boot into it, which now looks like it will never again post. I backup my system fine, and would like to restore an image just to make sure the problem is not with Windows.

Can you still get into the BIOS ? What did see on screen, boot logo, example manufacturer name.

Absolutely nothing on the screen. A few times it came up with a message that the system crashed and the optimized, default values needed to be loaded

Absolutely nothing on the screen.
How did you do upgrade and how did you do clean install, make a disc ? Always a chance for it to be hardware issue, as there is no picture at all. Sound like it boots up, any beeps ?

The clean install was off of a downloaded Microsoft iso, burnt to disk. No sounds, but I do not think there is a speaker in my case. It's a PC.

So your saying screen comes on and just nothing at all.

So it is not a laptop, because you stated you removed the battery ? Monitor can be a cause if it was booting up from recognized sounds you hear, example, loose cables, broken or damaged cable. PC sound come from the motherboard, beeps.
Were not sure if it is actually booting up or getting power, do we ?

I going to leave for a while and try to recreate a Crive on a different hard drive.
