Win10 problem

Hello!

I have a problem with Windows 10 on my laptop. I had Windows 8.1 then i upgraded to Win10. Sometimes after upgrade (3-4 times a month) computer lost sound, started to work really really slow and i couldnt open anything in task bar, if i was playing a game i got fps drop and i had to play on 1 or 2 fps. I had to restart laptop and then it worked normaly. This wasnt a problem becase it was just few times per month but now I have problems with this few times per day. I have to restart laptop 3 times a day. I dont know what problem is, this problem is since i upgraded to Win10.

Hi have you made sure all latest updates are installed.
Your BIOS is up to date and all latest drivers are installed and working.
Have you tried a reset using Tutorial found in my Signature
Also a SFC Command which is also linked in my signature

Assuming your Win 10 is activated.
Do a Repair Install, also known as In-place upgrade Install.
This method allows you to keep your files, settings and apps.
Activation is automatic.

Use this tutorial:

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

Editing..................
You might want to do a system file check first to look for corrupt files. It will try to do repair if any found.
But, in my opinion, you will have to do the Repair Install eventually.

How to do system file check :
Right click at Start button > click Command Prompt (Admin) > at the flashing prompt, copy/paste this.......
sfc /scannow

> press Enter.
It will take quite sometime.
When finished, it will give you one of the 3 reports...............(paraphrasing)
1. No integrity violation.
2. Found corrupt files and repair successful.
3. Found corrupt files but unable to repair.

If the report is #1, your solution lies elsewhere.
If the report is #2, check if your problems have been resolved.
If the report is #3, use this method................
In the same Command Prompt (Admin) windows, copy and paste this command...........

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

> press Enter.
Again it will take some time.
When finished, it will give you a report.

Simple way to reset your computer....open Settings....Update and Security....Recovery.....Reset this pc.....Choose an Option.
I did a successful restore yesterday choosing Keep my Files.

It might be "simple", but Reset This PC will only allow users to keep personal files and nothing else.

If you have an M$ account and are synchronised to the cloud all files and SETTINGS are restored.
All Apps are uninstalled but a list of them is left on the desktop.
See my post yesterday "Weird Malfunction" As already stated did this successfully yesterday.

OK.
You advocate Reset this PC.
And I, Repair Install.

More than one way to skin a cat.
I will not carry on this discussion.
The decision rests on the OP.

David I just learned a new method of doing a repair install, still checking the process out, but looks like all the user has to do is click on this link from MS then click upgrade option, and it does a repair install without having to download any ISO. !!!
This is the link.

Thank you. I do know of that.
I do not use it simply because I want to have the iso downloaded first before installation.
To me, it is important to have an iso burnt to a bootable media....... for future use.

To : OldMike65,

I forgot to add................. Your suggestion would be perfect for the OP. A simple Upgrade now and way he goes.
I hope the OP will use your suggestion.

Thank you.
