My Win 10 desktop shows "Windows 8.1 with Media...........

I have downloaded the Win 10 Tech preview and performed a "upgrade from my Win 8.1 Pro". My lower right corner on the Win 10 desktop reads "Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center Evaluation Copy. Build 9841. In all other respects the Win 10 OS performs as well as my 8.1 Pro. The new Start Menu show the Tiles etc.
Is this what everyone else has on their desktop??

I did a clean install and then added the Media Center feature and now it reads the same, "Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center Evaluation Copy. Build 9841." It was fine before I added the Media Center.

That's what I did also.

Be sure to submit feedback to MS so they can look at it

I already have.
So far I like the new Win 10. I wonder if this version was really intended to be an major update number 2 for Win 8.1 ? And at the last minute some senior vp decided to call in Win 10.

Officially, I dont know, cause the completed version has not been released yet, but based on what I can see now, it will definately be a new version.

I did the same thing and got the same results.
I did a complete reinstall to get back to where I was. I will wait until Microsoft gets Windows Media Player worked out for the use in W-10 with out doing any tricks.

I like it when you installed Windows the Windows Media Player was included and worked.
You all can thank the know it all's at the E.U. for getting in the way of that.

What can be wrong with Microsoft putting a Microsoft program included with a Microsoft operating system.
They don't make us use WMP they just offer it for free.
As always we can install as many media player as we so need or desire and not use WMP.
