I did not get an update via Windows Updates, so better to download it manually.
Last Updated: August 25th 2016
DRIVER VERSION:10.10.714.2016
Driver Date:14-Jul-16
(32-bit and 64-bit Windows)
Download: Realtek LAN Driver
Download: 32bit.zip& 64bit.zip
I had to update to these. My Ethernet connection stopped working when I woke up. I though there was something wrong with my internet but everything else connected fine.
I had no network connection after upgrading to this version. I had to roll back the driver to what I had before - 9.1.401.2015 - which I think came from the update to Windows 10. Are people using this version 10xxx driver successfully?
Maybe you have a different LAN card model than those supported by the driver. To find out exactly, you can use a utility such as Aida64 (go to the devices section), then visit Realtek's site and download the appropriate driver for Windows 10.
My ASUS board has two Realtek chips PCI & PCIe GBE Family Controller - manual says 8112L /8110SC. Realtek site pointed to the v10.003 driver ref above. The setup.exe ran fine, no complaints. Device manager showed no errors. IPCONFIG looked normal except that it hadn't connected to my network.
I have 8168/8111F and I'm using the latest PCI-E Gigabit drivers. I just had a look at Realtek's site, your model is listed at the PCI Gigabit Ethernet driver, which is different from my PCI-E driver. Try downloading and install the PCI Gigabit driver and you should be OK. Of course first uninstall the previous not-working driver.
Use the driver that works. Despite what people say newer drivers are not always better sometimes they are worse.
Thanks TairikuOkami, new Realtek LAN Driver v10.6.1001.2015 works fine with my Windows 10 Pro on my ASUS P7P55D Deluxe board.
Updated.
