I already scanned my drives for errors, and all was well. I entered SMART and it says that both my 3.5 inch hard drive and SSD are "good."
I see this:
<Data Name="DeviceName">DeviceHarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1</Data>
That says to me the corruption is in a shadow copy of a drive or partition, not the drive or partition itself.Shadow Copy(also known as Volume Snapshot Service, Volume Shadow CopyService or VSS) is a technology included in Microsoft Windows that allows taking manual or automatic backup copiesor snapshots of computer files or volumes, even when they are in use.
Shadow Copy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Getting exactly the same error on a Win 10 Pro system - HDD is OK no Smart or Chkdsk errors - just keep getting multiple Event 55 errors every day mentioning the Shadow Copy.
Does any one have any clues as to what is happening here.
I believe that for me it was when making an image of my partitions. I do not think it's important because the backups work fine.
