BSOD after waking up from sleep on a freshly formatted laptop

Hello, I've been trying to tackle this one without luck. After the laptop wakes up from sleep, I get a BSOD that says CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED. The laptop is an HP g6-1c40ca that I just finished formatting with Windows 10 Home. All drivers are apparently installed (no yellow question marks) and apart from that BSOD, everything is fine. Here is my dump DESKTOP-IVMOR19-2016-09-03__34229_68.zip

Thanks a lot

I see you are still at the older TH2 10586 level. Have you tried updating to the 14393 Anniversary level yet? If not I suggest you do so then see if there are still problems.

What is the full model number of your HP Pavilion G6 laptop? G6-??????

Check the HP web site and see if there is a BIOS update as the one you currently have is very old,
BIOS Release Date 12/25/2012

Thanks, I updated my post with my model (g6-1c40ca). I just finished updating Windows 10 to the Anniversary edition, and now after sleep the computer just restarts (no blue screen, just a restart which takes longer to restart than usual), and also the touchpad doesn't work at all. In device manager there is a Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed) displaying "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) A request for the USB device descriptor failed.".

For the BIOS, the version I have is the "newest" version out (F.49), though, I don't know if the version on the HP site is a revision with the same version number (which seem dumb). I'll run the BIOS updater with it anyways to see if it does anything.... I "updated" with the version on the web and as expected it is the same version i had. Now with no touchpad this problem is worse.

Strange, the f.49 BIOS you have installed shws a date of 2012/12/25 and the f.49 on the HP web site shows 3/1/2016.

Download and install the Synaptics Touch Pad driver from the HP web site: . See if that fixes the Touchpad problem.

It's for Windows 8 but should work okay. Once that's done, try updating it via Device Manager.

The strange part is that the touchpad doesn't even appear on device manager. I will report when I try installing the touchpad driver...

Click on View, Show hidden Devices, see if it shows up there.
