Since issue #4993 I can say it's annoyed me so much that I'm tempted to buy a new monitor. - I was already tempted but I wasn't ever able to get it down to one particular.
Notes:
-Needs to be good from a far away distance (Up to about 6ft)
-Needs to be reliable
-Preferably with DVI, HDMI, Display port if possible.
I've narrowed it down to a few I quite like the look of;
Samsung S27D590CS 27 inch Curved LED Monitor: Amazon.co.uk: Computers Accessories
27" Curved LED
Advantages:
Curved
27"
Speakers inbuilt
Disadv:
No DVI
Not flush to edge of screen
Not height adjustable
LG 25UM55 25-Inch IPS LCD Monitor (21:9, 5M:1, 250 cd/m2, 2560 x 1080 HDMI/DP): Amazon.co.uk: Computers Accessories
25" IPS LCD
Advantages:
Ultra Widescreen
Speakers inbuilt
Flush to edge of screen
Disadv:
Only 25"?
Possible Res issues?
I would contemplate getting the 29" if I/yourselves didn't deem 25" to be great from a bit of distance.
Are you buying a computer monitor or a TV? From 6 feet I'd rather be looking into a 50" screen, but that's me ....
I have a 27" ViewSonic and I love it. No speakers so I can use separate ones with a sub-woofer.
It's like this one:
Amazon.com: ViewSonic VA2703-LED 27-Inch LED-Lit LCD Monitor, Full HD 1080p, 3.4ms, DVI/VGA, VESA: Computers Accessories
I get that, I have a tv that's 23" and I can see it clearly from 4ft ish I guess so it's no major issue. Unfortunately I couldn't get a TV due to the fact of flicker and such and where it'll be a 50" wouldn't fit.
The distance is UP-TO, meaning I could be closer at times but at other times I may have to be far away - 6ft.
That brings back memories. My Father bought me a 19 inch CRT ViewSonic with a glass screen. It was pretty nice back in 2002 lol.
They still make good monitors, IMO. Mine is perfect for what I need right now.
Unfortunately not a known brand in the UK, therefore it'd cost a fortune to ship whereas LG, Samsung, Benq? Asus, Dell, HP etc are cheaper
Good point..
I have an LG 23" LED backlit and it works great. Believe or not Dell makes some good monitors as well.
I don't know what distance you're referring to, but the 25" Ultra-wide is pretty small vertically.
The real one to get is the 34" Curved Ultrawide, although it's a bit pricier at $1299 USD. (you can probably find it cheaper in other locations).
