Upgraded OS to Windows 10 Unable to wake Up from sleep mode.

I have a Laptop (Lenovo G40-70), OS was Windows 8.1 and then I upgrade it on Windows 10 and now I cannot wake up my computer from sleep mode.

I read on internet I just need to update my Intel graphic card adapter, then it fixed the problem it able to wake up after setting in sleep mode. Intel graphics adapter is now visible in system tray means it’s running.
But once I shutdown or restart the computer, the Intel graphic adapter is unable to load or run. I check in system tray and services. Problem occurred, which is unable to awake after setting in sleep mode.

Hoping on positive response.

Hello,
As I understand it you have upgraded you driver, which solves the sleep problem, until you restart.

Windows 10 maintains your basic system drivers. If you install a version not approved by Uncle MS it will be quickly replaced.
If you wish to keep your driver and stop MS changing it, you have to take special action.
Windows Updates - Hide or Show in Windows 10 - Windows 10 blog

Hope that helps.

Hi dalchina,

Thank you so much for your quick response, You understand my problem so well and I believe your answer is right
" Windows 10 maintains your basic system drivers. If you install a version not approved by Uncle MS it will be quickly replaced."

I already read the thread link you gave "Windows Updates - Hide or Show in Windows 10". But I did not execute it yet. Because I don't deeply understand. Why would I hide Windows Updates if there's no update message from Microsoft, and my problem is Uncles MS is Preventing my new driver to execute.

Is there a settings on it that could keep my currents settings and preventing Microsoft changing it or interfering?

Hi, thanks. You won't get a message from MS about a driver update MS chooses to apply- until it's done, maybe.
However, your windows update history tells you what's been done.

You need to install and keep a driver of a different version to that which MS would like you to have.

So you'd need to use that tutorial to hide the update you don't want MS to do, and then install the different driver version that works for you.

If you need to restart while setting that up for some reason, then disconnect from the internet so MS does not download a different driver version.

Another questions, A: Should I hide Windows 10 update then update the driver or B: Update the driver then hide the Windows update.

Thank you in advance.
