New Intel HD Graphics 4600 Driver Update in WU

Well! That was a jarring experience! Just got a update via WU for Intel HD Graphics 4600. During install, it went absolutely bonkers on the display. Kaleidoscope wacky! Just let it be for a minute or so to finish install, then power button off/on. Wow!

This one seems to have messed my Windows 10 opening icons (e.g. the cogwheel when opening settings app), they're like pixelated or lower quality. Restart didn't fix it, going to uninstall clean and let it download from scratch via WU again.

Update: Yes, it worked, icons are normal again.

Getting message about this as a failed update today. I clicked on update and another win update failure notice. Think I'll leave it

Intel Corporation driver update for Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

There are currently no downloads available for Intel Corporation driver update for Intel HD Graphics 4600 (Intel site)

Never updated my Intel HD Graphics through Windows Update.

My driver version is 20.19.15.4424 and always update on Intel Site.

I visited the intel site last night and put the details in their search. The no updates available came up.

I don't seem to have anything looking like that in your post, mine? The only thing I have in that section is my AMD software

Thanks for the image though

or:

Intel® HD Graphics 4600 for 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors

Cheers!

A million thanks luarpc - I have download the version for my pc (Win 10 x 64), now, before I load it up, I have to ask - do I need it?

That explains the blinking. I think Intel decided not to support windows 10 for some of their drivers but didn't tell Microsoft and/or OEMS. I think at first they did support 10 but changed their minds on some drivers. This is not just Windows Operating systems this also applies to newer Linux distros including Ubuntu 16.04 & their flavors. This is just my opinion. So, it looks like we are back to Windows 7 sp1 & Linux Mint 17.3 for a long time even if unsupported.

Is the intel WDDM driver an alternative to some intel graphics drivers? The only issue with that, is preventing windows update from overwriting it and you may have to force unsigned driver.

I have the graphics card software running, thats the only entry in the display adapter setting. I note in the screen shot above that he has both a graphic driver and the intel software. I'll give it a run, I can always remove it

Thanks for your input, appreciated.

Well, that ones solved - "your computer does not meet the minimum requirements for the software" !!!! It has not installed.
