.Net 3.5 framework windows 10, cannot install 0x800F081F

I hardly know anything about computers and this is my last option
I have looked all over the internet trying to figure out how to install .net 3.5 framework on windows 10, and nothing has worked. I can't run gpedit.msc on my computer, and i keep getting error 6800 on elevated command prompt. I've tried downloading offline, nothing works
I have been trying for 2 days now, god help me

What version of Windows 10 do you have ?

ONLY Windows 10Pro ( and Enterprise version ) is capable of running gpedit.msc.

Windows 10 Home can only use regedit.msc.

Oh ok, I have Windows 10 Home

Then regedit.msc is the only option you have.

I am no expert. This is one way I know about installing Netframework 3.5

In the Cortana search box, type programs and features > press Enter key.
Left side, clickTurn Windows Features On or Off >check the box " Netframework 3.5 (includes .Net 2.0 and 3.0 ) > click OK when done.

In that case Windows Reset might be the only option.

Before that, you might try this out, download WCFix, run it as admin and let it run, when it asks, clean everything.

Please enlighten me.
Why does the OP need to do what you suggested when he/she was merely mistakenly using gpedit.msc on a Windows 10Home edition ?

Because specifying the alternate path does not always work and it is a bit complicated to do. Reasons:

Resolution for error code 0x800F081F

This error code can occur when an alternative installation source is specified and one of the following conditions is true:
  • The location that is specified by the path does not contain the files that are required to install the feature.
  • The user who tries to install the feature does not have at least READ access to the location and to the files.
  • The set of installation files is corrupted, incomplete, or invalid for the version of Windows that you are running.

To resolve this problem, make sure that the full path of the source is correct (x:sourcessxs) and that you have at least Read access to the location. To do this, try to access the source directly from the affected computer. Verify that the installation source contains a valid and complete set of files. If the problem persists, try to use a different installation source.
