Question Regarding Xbox One Games Streaming on Win 10

Ok, so I think I'm confused concerning the Xbox One games streaming on Windows 10. I just upgraded to Windows 10 HP. I remember reading that Xbox One games would run on Windows 10. I had thought originally that it meant you could take an Xbox One game and install it and it would run on Windows 10.

When they say 'streaming', does this mean just like watching a streamed game like on Twitch or can you install an Xbox One game on Windows and be able to play the game without having an Xbox One? Can someone please clear this up for me. Thanks.

Open the xbox app on windows 10, hit the connect button on the lower left, go to your avatar top left, hit stream. It mirrors your xbox on your pc. You can use an xbox one controller on your pc as well as party chat in windows 10. I don't recommend fps multiplayer games though.

I did not want to start a new thread, but had a question regarding the Streaming option.
Xbox App on Win10 is updated to the latest, but when I go to stream, it says that my Xbox or Xbox App needs to be updated still??

I have been trying to find blog and people online that have similar issues, but have been unsuccessful.
Is there something that i need to download on my Xbox at all? The settings are also enabled on my Xbox one.

Not sure how fluent you are with computers, but if you click on start -> all apps -> windows powershell, right click on the first one and run as administrator. Once open, type in:

Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

This will uninstall it. Once its uninstalled, go to the store and type in xbox and install it again.

Thank you, but i tried this and got the same result. I am connected to my Xbox and only see controller options (Volume, Remote Control, and Controller). When i go to Game Streaming, it says that my Xbox or App needs to be updated. Is there anything on the Xbox that is required. Like Kinect? I do not have the Kinect...

Kinect isn't required but the xbox one software needs the update as well - I can't recall the exact menu navigation, but it's somewhere in the settings area. On the left it will tell you if there is an available update.

Thanks for the help Zee, but nothing needs to be updated on my Xbox. It says its updated. Is there a specific version on the Xbox that it needs to be and how to check this?

According to xbox (Xbox One Operating System Versions and System Updates) - it was introduced with version 6.2.13194.0 (xb_rel_1507.150702-2154) fre

Thanks! But i dont think its an Xbox One issue, since my Wireless laptop works. Are there specific settings that need to be applied to my network/router to make this work? My PC that is not working is direct connected with Static IP.

The media pack that i installed on my Windows device did not seem to work after install, reboot...

Open for any other suggestions??

Did you upgrade to the new NXOE, where it has the gray background and new menus? I can't seem to replicate your issue and I tried 4 different laptops on different versions of Win10...
