Strange Message at Boot Up

3 days ago I had built my PC. I tested it out by just installing the CPU, PSU and ram only. When I was done, I booted it up and I saw the MSI splash screen (since its an MSI mobo) and then the boot menu, which indicated everything was ok.

Today, however, I finished installing the SSD drive. But when I boot up, I get the MSI splash screen followed by this message:

"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key"

Is this message showing up because I dont have an o/s installed? Or maybe I didn't connect the power cable of the SSD drive into the correct socket in the PSU?

Is that SSD only drive or you just added it ? New drives do not come with OS installed, you have to do it yourself !!!

Yeah the SSD is my only drive. I got to buy an o/s soon.

Is your previous OS a OEM or Retail version?

I sold my previous computer 6 months ago. I want to buy a product key then download a copy of win 7 through a digital river mirror. There's a guy on eBay who can sell me a key for $15.

Good luck with that!

In other words, don't buy a key of Ebay

Where then do you suggest I buy one?

A legitimate source, Newegg, Amazon, or even from Microsoft

Keys from questionable sources have been found to be leaked volume licenses (or similar), and tend to deactivate as time passes; too many activations cause MS to eventually block them.
