Cant do fresh install for DVD

I have successfully upgraded from win 7 to win 10 but i would like to do a fresh install as its been years since i have and would like to start from fresh.

I made the x64 DVD from the MS installation media creation tool.

I run the setup.exe from the disc and it starts downloading updates goes through the processes but after 1 hour or so a message comes up saying installation has failed.

I looked at you 'Clean install' guide and this relates to USB not DVD or is the process the same?

Should i be booting from the DVD rather then running the setup.exe

I did try but my pc restarts and just loads normally with out actually booting via DVD

Any help would be most appreciated.

Boot it up from the DVD.. and remember do not enter any key no matter how many times you're asked.

Jeff

Yes, that should work.

Just to make sure you won't run into trouble with activation: Before you start the fresh install, you might want to check that your system currently is activated. If it is, then you can do a clean install and it will activate automatically again.

Yes i checked and im fully activated.

When you say dont enter any key do you mean when im prompted to 'press a key' to boot from DVD or do you mean when install starts?

When prompted for Key, click Skip this step

I cant seem to boot from the DVD

I press F12 as PC restarts it takes me to boot menu, i select CD/DVD but the pc just restarts nothing else happens.

There are 2 options from boot menu. One is for UEFI installation, The other is for MBR installation. If your BIOS set for UEFI then you must select UEFI-CD/DVD....

Try with blank HD, formatted with NTFS.

These are my only options at boot.
