I have a triple boot system, Win 10 Pro, Win 7 and Win 10 Insider.
The latest insider build, 14383, changed my Win 10 pro listing on the boot menu to "Win 8 Pro". I had to use bcdedit to change it back to Win 10 Pro.
My operational Win 10 Pro was an upgrade installation from Win 8 Pro.

Been like that forever....it's a PITA, but doesn't hurt anything except your blood pressure! Posting that so anyone else reading this would know how. Assumes you are booted to the OS you want to change name on Boot Menu. Call it anything you like inside the quotes. Can be verified with MSCONFIG.

OK...I responded the way I did because you said you used bcdedit. Guess I misunderstood.I use easybcd as you can change all of them at same time.

I booted using a USB Flash Drive with an iso for an insider version. Selected Repair your computer, Advanced and finally command prompt. Enter bootrec /rebuildbcd and it corrected mine.
