Be vary careful ... WIN uninstalls security systems.

I have been happy with my T400 laptop and Win 7. After being "bugged" by Win10 pop ups, yesterday I did the upgrade to Win 10. I have noticed that my McAffee Security Suiute, Malware Bytes and Adblock Pluse have been disconnected. I could reactivate the Malware Bytes and Adblock Plus. The McAfee Security Suite is missing in action. I can't find it anywhere.

1st Be careful when you upgrade to Win 10. It doesn't ask permission.

2nd If there is someone out there that knows how I might find my McAfee Security Suite, please let me know. Its been 24 hours and I'm certain it is hungry and afraid.

Thanks!

Chances are, the version of McAffee you had installed was not compatible with Windows 10, and rather than leaving your system in an unstable state, it simply did not migrate it to the new version.

Haha....ok its not as bad as you think. When you did your upgrade, you should have removed McAfee 1st, I would also remove Malwarebytes and then re-install. To get back your McAfeee re-install, if you can find the dir its on now, I would remove it and do a clean install. Then your pals will run a lot better. Down the road, after you settle in with your new windows 10, you might want to think about doing a Clean install of the OS.

Correct...

Re-install Malwarebytes Premium and use Windows Defender (already installed) and do not re-install McAfee. That's my unsolicited advice...

McAfee is a resource hog, but it's much better than Defender. In fact, it's not bad at all (although I would switch to Kaspersky or Bitdefender - they have better scores). Test antivirus software for Windows 8 - June 2015 | AV-TEST

Don't believe everything you read. Kapersky was caught red handed gaming those tests. They were creating new malware that they of course caught, but nobody else could because they were trying to pump up their scores.

Also, recent tests of Defender have been very different.

Kaspersky was cheating, but they were cheating by causing their competitors to detect more false-positives. That doesn't affect the detection rate of them. Kaspersky is still a good antivirus, despite the allegations, anyway.

Both AV Comparatives and AV-TEST, reputable websites, rated Microsoft's technologies as bad. Here are the results from AV Comparatives: AV-Comparatives Comparatives Reviews - AV-Comparatives Microsoft Security Essentials (and Defender) didn't do so well.

For example, they both have Wikipedia pages. Granted, they're short, and Wikipedia could be edited by anyone, but I haven't seen anything about Dennis Technology Labs.
