I have an SSD with the Samsung Magician 4.9.5 software. I am a Windows Insider on the Fast Ring so you all know how often we get updates. Recently I opened this software to check that it was set up correctly, in the past there were things that would change on an update.
When I opened it up under the new build 14267 I saw this:
If you notice the Health Status is blank. Furthermore the state of "Smart" showed this:
This shows there are problems with the drive. I ran CrystalDisk and a few other programs and found out the drive was OK.
I then decided to rebuild the computer and go back to the last ".iso" build 10586 1511 (111215). I reinstalled Samsung Magician 4.9.5. and these were the results:
After the rebuild I haven't changed this to "Get Insider Builds" through windows update. I wanted to post this and see if others ran into this before I start the update process. I am going to try and narrow it down to the upgrade that broke this software.
This is why I don't use Insider on my main desktop but test it in vmware instead.
You could try uninstalling Magician, run ccleaner, then install 4.9 and then 4.9.5 over it. Magician is working fine for me in Stable Windows 10.
Same thing here, it's not working. This is using Samsung magician 4.5 software.
I understand that, this is my beta computer I test on, should of mentioned that. Also, my main computer that has a stable Win10 version has the same SSD and Samsung Software 4.9.5 and is working perfectly.
Most likey its because the Samsung software was not made to run under a BETA version of Windows 10 ....plus these beta's always have bugs, that's why MS wants you and others to run and test these beta releases. AND to report any issues you may find.
Thanks, was looking for feedback from others to see if this was an issue just on my end.
Magician 4.9.5 working fine for me on my 850 EVO after upgrading from build 14257 to 14267 last night. I didn't have Rapid Mode enabled - I don't use that - did you?
It's not just you. This has been broken for me for at least 3-4 builds. It's something to do with SMART. I had to do a reinstall recently and it worked under RTM so it's definitely insider.
I always use "Rapid Mode" so yes, it was enabled. I will have to go back and look at a couple of other things first but will turn on Insider builds and see what happens.
Downloaded 14271 and did a fresh install and the same thing happens. I would think Samsung has a problem to address.
