I do not have the get windows 10 app on my computer. The windows 10 icon has never appeared at the icon tray. My system is up to date. I have a genuine copy of windows. I have above the minimum PC specs. I have always been connected to the internet. I have tried the Windows missing icons fix batch and all of the methods. I used it and said I had all the required updates. I also have the C:WindowsSystem32GWX folder with all the required files but when I try to open it up it does not open. I have tried everything in this article I want to reserve my free copy of Windows 10, but I don?t see - Microsoft Community I have checked the notifaction area and the app is not there. I started up a forum on Sevenblog (Here) and was told to come here. Any help is appreciated.
This new icon and its resulting dialog are actually part of an application that appeared in late April 2015 as a recommended Windows update (KB3035583).
If you read Microsoft’s description on the update’s support page, it’s apparent that this is optional:This update enables additional capabilities for Windows Update notifications when new updates are available to the user. It applies to a
computer that is running Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
What is the Tray Item and How Do You Remove It?
In the explanation I already said I had the required updates.
I am not trying to remove it, I am trying to make it appear.
None of the methods worked.
This works:
How to get the Windows 10 upgrade icon if it's missing - CNET
I have already tried this I have explained about what I have and have not done in the question at the top.
I was just showing what worked for me and others. It's not the same procedure as the one you have linked.
