I checked drivers

I downloaded Windows 10 yesterday on my hp laptop, HP envy notebook. Sure wish I didn't - my sound does not work right....no bass. I've been to EVERY setting and no way to set it back. I've check for driver updates, and I'm told I'm up to date. Anyone else have this problem. And if so, where do you reset your bass? Thank you.

You could try to manually run Windows Update until there are no more updates available.
Perhaps, there's an update there for HP Beats Audio Driver.

Check in Device Manager for Driver issues. Try updating the Audio Driver.

I checked drivers and it says I'm up to date. Nothing available. It also took away the functionality of my mute button on keyboard, no longer lights up, it mutes and unmutes, but the light no longer works. I hate windows 10 already

Here's a link to HP Support Forum. There is an ongoing discussion about this audio issue with Beats Audio.

I haven't had time to read through all of it. Give it a shot.

I have an HP Envy Laptop, and the driver can be downloaded from the HP site. Search for IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver on the particular vendor site for your computer. They should have a driver for Windows 10. I had the same issue until I downloaded the driver. By the way, the driver for Windows 8.1 will work with 10 if the version for 10 isn't available.

HP Device Auto Detect:

To find an Audio Driver, as suggested by "TexasBandit." Use the link below to auto detect your HP device.

If the auto detect doesn't work, here is the link to manually search for information on your device.

Believe it or not, but Windows 10 may not include every custom driver for every laptop out there.

Does HP support the Win 10 upgrade on your laptop? (I'd check, but "HP Envy notebook" doesn't really define the model.) If not, you may lose some of the custom features, like the functions of some of the buttons. If you can't live without them, you'll need to revert to the older operating system. (MS will support Windows 7 until January 14, 2020.)
