I have set my desktop as I want it I don'tlike all those panels - some I guess I have to have.
Now what I would really like is to click on Start and the on/off option/s to beat the bottom instead of having to click the three small bars at the top left handcorner to bring those options up see pic

The power options are there with one click:

Oh well mine when I hit the Start button just comes up with those panels and those small bars at the top there is nothing where there is in your shot I have to click the small bars at the top see my pc

@ICIT2LOL you are using the full screen Start if you want to see all of the options pictured in your first post without clicking the bars at top (Hamburger Menu) then turn off the full start Screen option in Settings > Personalize > Start, You can also Add/Remove folders from the list.

Start Full-screen - Turn On or Off in Windows 10

PS: The dark theme is Edwin's registry edit and not the default white color.

@ICIT2LOL You do understand you are running build 10130, which is an old build, while the latest build is 10162, right? You don't have what @Edwin have, because this feature is not included in build 10130. You can (and should) update to build 10162 if you this feature.

Ah! That explains it! Nice catch!

Always look for hidden tiny details in the picture.

Sorry for late reply you folks as I am not used to having to check in to see replies yet - used to the old email system of 7.

Now the new build is that an update? or do I have to get it from somewhere??

The new build is available through Windows Update, and through the ISO here: Windows 10 Insider Preview ISO April Update - Microsoft Windows
